I've always been expressing myself visually, and (as with a lot of graphic designers) it all started with a kids fascination of comics, graphic novels and cartoon characters. And of course, I then started drawing and fortunately never stopped.
I've been freelancing as an illustrator since 2001, working for as different clients as the big danish telecompany TDC and the local branch of the blooddonors association.
With 8 years of experience in illustration I've learned to read between the lines in a brief and meet all the clients wishes – spoken or unspoken ;-)
User centered design
During the years I also took on some small graphic and web design projects, and in 2006 I started taking a course in general graphic design at The Graphic Arts Institute of Denmark.
I finished my bachelors-degree this summer with a branding project for The Danish Association of Masters and PhD's.
During the 3 years I was introduced to the basic tools of idea-making, composition and typography.
Working with theese basic tools I solved problems in the areas of interactive design, motion graphics, magazine-design, newspaper-design, packaging, identity, branding, font-design and info-graphics.
The projects always evolved around the target audience and their desires and needs – also called user-centered design.
Full-fledged graphic designer
I'm know a full-fledged graphic designer that understands how important it is to build my design around an idea and a set of arguments. – And actually the same goes for illustrations!
Today I deliver everything from production ready designs to more strategic and idea-driven work. You're welcome to contact me for a collaboration or project of any kind that you might find suitable for me.
